Election Date May 20, 2025
Notice is hereby given, the City of Albany will have a measure to be voted on by the electors of the City of Albany, at the May 20, 2025, election. Albany voters will have the opportunity to vote on the following:

Renewal of the Ambulance, Fire, and Police Local Option Tax
Question
Shall Albany continue $1.15 per $1,000.00 of assessed value for ambulance, fire, police operations for five more years beginning 2026-2027? This measure renews current local option taxes.
Summary
The City will use tax revenue from this measure to continue funding for firefighter/emergency medical technicians, deputy fire marshal and emergency services positions, for police officers, police clerks, community service officers, and telecommunications and crime analyst positions, together with related equipment and training. Taxes will also continue to be used to pay operating costs for the fire and police departments. The levy continues the rate previously approved by voters in 2020.
The proposed rate will raise approximately $6,121,900.00 in 2026-2027; $6,305,600.00 in 2027-2028; $6,494,700.00 in 2028-2029; $6,689,600.00 in 2029-2030; and $6,890,300.00 in 2030-2031, for a total of $32,502,100.00.
The estimated tax cost for this measure is an ESTIMATE ONLY based on the best information available from the county assessor at the time of estimate and may reflect the impact of early payment discounts, compression, and the collection rate.

Notice of Public Hearing: Albany Budget Review Committee
The Albany Budget Review Committee will hold a public hearing on May 22, 2025, in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 333 Broadalbin Street SW, Albany, to consider public comments on the City’s possible uses of state shared revenues. The meeting will begin immediately after the meeting of the City of Albany Budget Review Committee, which will start at 5:00 p.m.
This is the first of two required public comment opportunities. The second opportunity will be held before City Council on June 11, 2025.

Notice is hereby given that the City of Albany Budget Review Committee will meet on May 22, 2025, at 5:00 p.m.; and if necessary, May 27, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. in the Albany City Hall Council Chambers, 333 Broadalbin SW, Albany.
The purpose of the first meeting is to receive the budget message and review the Biennium 2025-2027 proposed budget. This is a public meeting where deliberation of the Budget Review Committee will take place.

Notice of Receipt of Ballot Title for the City of Albany
ELECTION DATE MAY 20, 2025
A ballot title was received/filed with the City Elections Officer (City Recorder) on February 14, 2025. Notice is hereby given that on May 20, 2025, the City of Albany will have a measure to be voted on by the electors of the City of Albany. The ballot title as submitted by the City Attorney is as follows:

Pursuant to ORS 250.296, a registered voter who is dissatisfied with a ballot title may file a petition with the Linn County Circuit Court seeking review of the title not later than the seventh business day after the title has been filed with the city elections officer. The deadline for filing a petition is Wednesday, February 26, 2025. The petition must also state the reasons the ballot title filed with the court is insufficient, not concise, or unfair.
Any registered voter filing a petition must also notify the City Recorder, in writing, no later than 5:00 p.m. on the next business day following the date the petition is filed.
