Notice is hereby given that the first of two public hearings is set for discussion on the renewal of the existing economic improvement district (EID). The Albany City Council is considering a voluntary EID for the continued funding of the Albany Downtown Association. The current EID expires June 30, 2023.
The first public hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. in the Albany City Hall Council Chambers, 333 Broadalbin Street SW.
The purpose of the public hearing is to provide an opportunity for the public to express their support for or objection to the City renewing the EID for a five-year period. If anyone unable to attend the public hearing wishes to demonstrate support or objection to the renewal of the district, they may do so by directing a signed letter to the City of Albany, Finance Department – Assessments, P.O. Box 490, Albany, OR 97321. Written support or objection will NOT be accepted after the second public hearing. Silence to either of the above-mentioned methods is legally considered as approval. No support or objection by telephone is accepted.
This notice is given in accordance with provisions of the Oregon Revised Statutes, Chapter 223.117.
