Salem Avenue will be closed to through traffic December 9-22, 2019, from Waverly Drive to Albany Avenue during installation of a deep sanitary sewer main east of Lake Street. Traffic will detour to Waverly Drive, Pacific Boulevard and Albany Avenue. Access will be maintained for local residents and businesses.
The Albany Transit bus stop in the closure area will be closed December 1, 2019 - January 31, 2020. Passengers will be redirected to use the bus stop on Salem Avenue at Waverly Drive or Airport Road near Carl’s Jr. Call 541-917-7667 with questions about transit service.
The north and west sections of the Waverly Lake path will also be closed December 1-January 31. A detour will route pedestrians around the work zone.
Drivers should expect traffic congestion on the detour route and increased traffic on alternate routes during the closure. Through traffic is expected to be restored by Monday, December 23, 2019.
The contractor is K&E Excavating Inc. of Salem.
